Cast Your Vote

Proverbs 28:14-16 (NKJV): Happy is the man who is always reverent, But he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity. Like a roaring lion and a charging bear Is a wicked ruler over poor people. A ruler who lacks understanding is a great oppressor, But he who hates covetousness will prolong his days.

Proverbs 29:1-2 (NKJV): He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck, Will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy. When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.

Over the last few years, we’ve lived in a nation that we have watched crumble and deteriorate at the hands of those who would have us believe they have good intentions but the fruit of their actions speak the truth. There’s no denying the high unemployment, high national debt and high temptation to despair throughout this nation brought about by the hands of those who think themselves gods that know what’s best for us all. Yet, sadly, it’s not just the fault of those in office that our great nation is in the state it is in but also it is ours. For too long, we have cast our votes carelessly, out of tradition and saddest of all, without any prayer beforehand. Ever looked up the word, “vote”? According to www.merriam-webster.com, its first meaning is the following:

1 a : a usually formal expression of opinion or will in response to a proposed decision; especially : one given as an indication of approval or disapproval of a proposal, motion, or candidate for office b : the total number of such expressions of opinion made known at a single time (as at an election)c : an expression of opinion or preference that resembles a voted : ballot 1

Notice what it says? When you vote for someone, you’re showing your approval of them as well as for all they stand! So if you vote for one who believes a particular race or gender is evil or that it’s okay to kill a baby in the womb, you are saying that you agree with that person. When you vote for one whose religion denies God as Who He is, you are saying that you agree with them. The very enemy of our soul would have you believe that you can separate the spiritual state of a man from their ability to represent you in office but that is not so. Our Creator created us composed of spirit, soul and body, all intertwined and affecting one another. The state of the spirit of a man affects the soul and body of a man including the decisions he makes. For those who persist in the lame argument that we’re “electing a President, Senator, Representative, etc. not a Priest”, I remind you that 1. As citizens of this nation, the actions heads of this nation impact all of us (from the head down); and, 2. If you’re willing to excuse going against your convictions and vote for one whose convictions are opposite, I encourage you to read the A Little Leaven.

Elections are a test of your convictions. A revelation of if your convictions are really convictions or if they’re mere opinions. Several years ago, I heard Dr. Michael Yousef clarify the difference between the two. He said that an opinion you hold and that a conviction holds you. I find that as I consider the 2 men presented to us as the main choices for US President, my convictions will not allow me to be at peace about voting for either of them. It is not only about their spiritual state but also about their voting histories, actions, words and associations. I look at all of this and don’t see that either truly has the best interest of this nation nor its people (from the womb to ripe old age) at heart.

This time, I find that I am praying more and more about who will ultimately lead this nation. I encourage you to do the same! Now is not the time for the saints of the Most High to rest on any laurels or lazily think someone else will do it! It is time ALL who are in Christ Jesus to prayerfully get the United States of America back to the moral and constitutional nation it once was. One thing I firmly know is that it’s not too late no matter what the lamestream media would have you believe. The Father has us all here for such a time as this and we MUST use this time wisely!
